The holiday of Shavuot celebrates the gift of the Torah given to us at Mt Sinai.

We hear the ten commandments being read from the Torah and reaffirm our commitment to its teachings.

Studying the Torah is a fitting way to show our enthusiasm for it, hence the custom to stay up all night of Shavuot discussing Torah ideas.

Another popular Shavuot custom is to eat dairy. See here for more on that.

Join us as we celebrate Shavuot in style!

Great Jewish Debates

Thursday May 21 - 10:00 pm - 11:00 pm followed by all night study.

1. Should aliyah be everyone's aspiration?

2. Is fighting anti-semitism worth anything, or should we focus inward and let the haters hate?

3. Which fosters a stronger Jewish connection, study or deed?

Expect to be surprised and entertained with some good old Jewish arguments.
